Lower-Division College Grade Requirements

Grades are obviously an important factor in admission as a lower-division transfer. It is important to note that there are different ways grades are used in the admissions process.

Your overall grade point average must be at least 2.0 (2.4 for non-residents). This GPA is calculated on all of your transfer units.

If you complete any general education work, you should earn grades of C or better. This is especially important for general education courses in the English language and mathematics sections of general education, which some campuses require for admission as a lower-division transfer.

Remember, these are minima. In the case of high-demand or impacted majors and campuses, higher grade point averages may be required.
